We take so much for granted -
When you woke up this morning, you probably made some decisions. You decided when to get out of bed, what to wear and maybe how many cups of coffee you’re going to have before taking the kids to school or leaving for work.
But there are some decisions you never get to make, like what the weather will be today, the mood of your boss, what the traffic will be, or serious decisions like the lifetime of your family.
When the three Le Roux boys woke on Thursday, 19 May 2016, they also made decisions, they decided what to wear to hockey practice, what books to take to school, what they want on their school sandwiches, but they never imagined that they would lose their father that day. A decision that they would never have made in a million years.
They had already lost their mother to cancer two years ago. To Jean-Pierre, trying to be both father and mother was difficult enough, but they found a way to survive, to make it work. Although they missed Sonja, the children were happy. They still had a loving father, their anchor in life, the one who kept everything going.
On 19 May 2016, only two years after their mother passed away, their father had a heart attack at their hockey game. Suddenly life changed as they knew it. They were 9, 8 and 3 years, a young age to be without parents.
